Awami National Party (ANP) Central General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain said ANP uprooted terrorism from Swat Valley and is the only party fighting and rendering sacrifices for the rights of Pukhtuns.
He was addressing an ANP workers convention at Wadudia Hall, Saidu Sharif on Sunday.
“When ANP came into power, terrorists already had a footprint in Swat and were exerting control,” said Hussain. “We tried neutralising the threat through dialogue and when all options were drained, we went all out against militant elements.” He added.
Hussain lashed out at Imran Khan for using uncivilised language against political opponents. He expressed concern over the target killing of Pukhtun elders and said anti-Pukhtun elements are behind the assassinations.
