A remote-controlled bomb went off in Faqqira village near Tank-Wana Road, targeting peace committee head Gul Salam Bittani. The attack took place on Friday, said Mureed Akbar Shaheed police station officials in Tank.

The peace committee head was unharmed in the blast but one of his colleagues was injured and two vehicles were damaged.

The explosion occurred when Bittani, along with his colleagues, was going to Tank from his hometown in Shah Zamanee. The bomb was fixed on a cycle which was left standing by the roadside.

As the convoy approached the bicycle, the bomb went off, injuring a volunteer of the committee.

Soon after the explosion, Tank Deputy Commissioner Ahmad Khan, DPO Kafayatullah Wazir and other security officials, along with the police, reached the site.
