KARACHI: Majority of house hunters all across the country find security of ownership as the biggest factor in deciding their place of residency, according to Lamudi’s “Real estate in the emerging markets” report of 2014.

The country director of Lamudi.pk, an online real estate portal, Saad Arshed launched the report at a conference on Friday.

“Markets in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East are experiencing booming real estate sectors; Lamudi has conducted a detailed survey to fuel up a growing middle class and strong economic performances,” said Arshed.

“By year 2030, developed countries will be stagnant in terms of economic growth and there will be a huge market for developing countries like Pakistan.”

The report provides a comprehensive overview of the property sector in 16 emerging countries, including Pakistan. It is based on a series of online surveys conducted with house-hunters and real estate agents in each country.

“Lamudi.pk is active in 29 countries worldwide and have a safe check and balance for our customers,” told Arshed while talking to The Express Tribune.

The customer survey examined house-hunting habits among buyers and renters in Pakistan, according to the survey, 45% people use internet surfing when they start a house hunt whether to buy a new house or to take a new house for rent.
