KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Monday rejected Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah's order to reinvestigate the murder case of Sulaiman Lashari, Express News reported.

Lashari's family were earlier informed that Sindh IG Ghulam Haider had ordered a reinvestigation into the murder case. In response to this, the family filed a petition in the Sindh High Court at which the IG confirmed that he had been given orders by the Sindh chief minister.

O'Levels student Sulaiman Lashari was shot dead at 2am on May 8. He was allegedly targeted by an SSP's son- Salman Abro- who had come to Sulaiman's house with five police constables to settle an argument.

In intense firing which lasted for up to ten minutes, Lashari was shot dead as well as one of Abro's police guards.

An FIR was then filed by Sulaiman's brother, Zeeshan, against Abro and the four police constables.

Earlier this week, Erum Naz - mother of the deceased- accused the CM of interfering in the murder investigations in a press conference at Karachi Press Club.  She questioned why the CM had ordered a reinvestigation into the case adding that a fair investigation would be unlikely unless SSP Abro was removed from his post.

The SHC today (Monday) has rejected the order to reinvestigate the murder.
