KARACHI: After success of the first two seasons, Nescafe Basement resumes, having launched Season 3 on November 19, 2014, according to a press release.

The show will give 25 fresh, vibrant and versatile young artists from across Pakistan a creative platform to divulge into mind blowing music and diverse instruments.

Zulfiqar ‘Xulfi’ Jabbar Khan who is part of the initiative as a mentor to the young musicians as well as the music producer for the show, is helping the youngsters discover their potentials and helping them create music that is different, edgy and most importantly, their own. “Not only do I work as a producer on the show but also as a mentor to all these young musicians, which, in my opinion, is a far bigger responsibility,” said Xulfi, the Call guitarist.

In a previous interview with The Express Tribune Xulfi shared that the upcoming season of Nescafé Basement will have more original songs as compared to preceding ones. “We have been growing with each year. This season, we have taken things up a notch. We have a few artistes returning this year as well, but along with them are three artistes from Karachi and seven from Islamabad, along with musicians from Larkana and Rahim Yar Khan,” stated Xulfi.

The first Necafe Basement show started in September 2012 when its producers went around college campuses looking for young, exceptionally talented, but fresh musicians who could sing and play an assortment of instruments.
