News Desk November 20, 2014

KARACHI: Karachi Dolphins won their match against Multan Tigers by an innings and 182 runs at the Multan Cricket Stadium on day three of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold’s seventh round.

The hosts were struggling from day one after being dismissed for 46 and conceded a 404-run lead in the first innings. A better batting display saw them make 222 but it was still not enough to stop them suffering a humiliating defeat as Shahzaib Ahmed took five in the second innings.

Meanwhile, Lahore Lions were also beaten at home as Peshawar Panthers won by nine wickets, chasing down the 42-run target in just 7.2 overs. In the repeat of this year’s domestic T20 final, Lions were dismissed for just 166 in the day as Taj Wali took five for the Panthers to give their batsmen only 43 to chase.

Still 83 runs behind at 85-4, Wapda are facing an uphill battle to save the match after being asked to follow on by NBP, who made 399 in their first innings.

ZTBL are facing a similarly embarrassing defeat as they are 68-3, following-on after making 218 in reply to PQA’s 508.

SNGPL are 244 runs ahead of UBL in the second innings with four wickets remaining heading into day three.
