Time has come for parliamentarians, judiciary to take strict punitive actions against those who misuse blasphemy law
LAHORE: The ill-fated Christian couple in Kot Radha Kishan was mercilessly beaten to death in broad daylight, in the name of a religion that actually advocates the protection of life, property and honour of every human being or citizen regardless of their beliefs. The whole nation is mourning the death of the man and the woman, who lost their lives for allegedly committing blasphemy.
While this may be just another story for the media, for the family of the two persons from Kot Radha Kishan, who were killed by an angry mob displaying the innate cruelty of killing a woman who was pregnant, this will be an extremely painful and devastating time. Killing an unborn baby is a most hideous and disgusting sin, which the frenzied mob committed in the name of a religion that advocates peace and justice. The time has come for parliamentarians and the judiciary to take strict punitive actions against those who misuse the blasphemy law to serve their own purposes.
