Rooting it out: Four traffic police officials terminated for corruption

Two years were cut off from the period of service of nine other personnel

Four officials of the Karachi traffic police were terminated on account of corruption by the Karachi traffic DIG Dr Amir Ahmad Shaikh on Saturday.


Along with the termination of the four officials from their services, four other officials of different ranks were reduced from their respective ranks. Moreover, two years were cut off from the period of service of nine other personnel.


According to the DIG's reader, inspector Abdul Hakeem, ASI Mehmood, ASI Niaz and ASI Arab were suspended from the police department for being found guilty of corruption and other malpractices. Furthermore, inspector Rehmanullah, SI Rafeeq Shaheen, SI Ghulam Rasool and head constable Mohammad Hameed have been demoted from their respective ranks.


The DIG warned the traffic police officials and personnel of severe punishment if they were found guilty of corruption or harassment of public.
