Tragedy: Woman commits suicide; man drowns in Neelum

A 19-year-old young man drowned in the Neelum river near Semari, some 70 kilometers from Muzaffarabad

MUZAFFRABAD:


Neelum River claimed two lives in Azad Kashmir on Wednesday.


According to police, Uzma Bibi, 22, a resident of Ashkot in Neelum Valley committed suicide while jumping into the river near Jora, some 50 kilometers from here. The police have started search for the body of the woman.


Meanwhile, in another incident a 19-year-old young man drowned in the same river near Semari, some 70 kilometers from here.


According to the police, Sajid Gohar was coming from Semari village to the nearest market to purchase essential commodities. On the way to market Sajid slipped and fell into the river.


The police recovered the body at the riverbank.
