ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has restored 24 suspended parliamentarians after they submitted their asset details as required.

The parliamentarians no longer cease to function as members of their respective assemblies.

"Election Commission is pleased to restore, subject to all just exceptions, the membership of National Assembly and Provincial Assembly, Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Balochistan of the aforesaid persons," read a document, released by the ECP, which has a list of all the parliamentarians who submitted their asset details.

Earlier, the ECP suspended 209 lawmakers after they failed to submit details of their assets by October 15.

The commission had sent lists of the members to the respective speakers of the house, asking them to stop the listed members from working.
