Daughters of the land

Letter October 19, 2014
Dr Aafia Siddiqui should be considered as significant as any other ‘daughter of the land’

LAHORE: While one daughter of the land is being applauded by many for her achievements, it is saddening to see the misery of the other daughter of the land. As we acknowledge and celebrate Malala Yousufzai’s feat, Dr Aafia Siddiqui continues to spend her days in an American prison with little or no hope of getting out of there anytime soon. Her case also deserves some attention.

Is there nothing the key figures of our country can do to bring her case back to life? After all, she should be considered as significant as any other ‘daughter of the land’.
