PESHAWAR:

“We have organised the event to highlight the softer side of Pukhtun culture,” said PAPF Chairman Alam Zeb at the event which will continue till Sunday (today). Intellectuals, politicians, poets, singers and handicraft artistes who have worked on Pukhtun art and culture participated.

Awami National Party General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion.

He highlighted the importance of holding such cultural events to keep Pukhtun culture alive as it is passing through a critical phase.

In Afghanistan, Pukhtun Culture Day is held every year on September 23. Pak-Afghan Peoples Forum also organises an event which celebrates cultural products, Pukhtun writers’ books, pictures of historical monuments, food stalls, cultural games’ stalls, poetry, traditional dresses and music.
