A sensible restriction

Given the city’s susceptibility to violence and rioting selling petrol in cans or bottles is quite dangerous.

Letter September 27, 2014

KARACHI: I often see a notice posted at all petrol pumps that they will not sell petrol in cans or bottles because of a government restriction in this regard. However, the reality is that all of them regularly breach this restriction and sell it in this fashion. Given the city’s susceptibility to violence and rioting this is quite dangerous. I would request the Karachi city administration and the police to ensure that his sensible prohibition is followed in letter and in spirit.
