LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Finance Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman has said the government will create four million new jobs while another two million people would be given technical training. Talking to delegations, he said the government was committed to expediting the economic growth of the province up to eight percent in four years and as a result more than seven million people would be able to live above the poverty line. He said that 36% of the total development budget had been allocated for south Punjab, so that maximum development projects could be completed in less developed districts. “Power generation and elimination of load-shedding was the priority of the government and dozens of power projects would be completed within next three to four years,” he said. The minister told the delegations that subsidies worth Rs10 billion would be provided to farmers on DAP fertilisers.
