Shortage of water and electricity

Letter September 18, 2014
It takes hours and sometimes days to remove a fault and restore power supply.

KARACHI: I want to draw the attention of the relevant authorities towards the shortage of electricity in Karachi. It has become a headache for the residents of the city. After every two hours there is one-hour of load-shedding. Students are unable to study due to the frequent power outages. Water supply is also affected which leads to a shortage of water. The K-Electric is facing electricity shortfall within its own system. The service department lacks sense of duty. It takes hours and sometimes days to remove a fault and restore power supply. This is affecting our national economy adversely.

I request the government and the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to remove this problem.
