KARACHI: Former IBSF World Champion Muhammad Asif continued to struggle on day two of the 2014 Sangsom 6-Red World Championship as he lost to Thailand’s Dechawat Poomjaeng 5-2 on Tuesday.

Asif is competing at the championship on invitation from the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association on virtue of being a winner of the 2013 Asian 6-Red Championship.

However, his performance at the event in Thailand has been less than impressive.

The cueist lost his first Group G match to Welshman Gareth Allen 5-4 in his opening match. Thereafter, he failed to catch up in the second match as well, succumbing to defeat against Graeme Dott 5-1.

Asif is currently lying at the bottom of the points table among six players.

Although he has two more matches to play on Wednesday, his chances of qualifying for the next round are slim.
