My question to the chairman of Wapda is: why is he asking for an increase in the electricity tariff?
RAWALPINDI: According to a report, Nepra has allowed an increase in the electricity tariff at the rate of 43 paisa a unit at the request of Wapda.
My question to the chairman of Wapda is: why is he asking for an increase in the electricity tariff? And why does his company put various surcharges all together under one category in consumers’ bills? In addition to that, Wapda even charges a “Neelam Dam Surcharge” from many consumers and this amounts to nothing less than a ‘goonda tax’.
