RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Wednesday directed the district administration to remove containers from city roads. After taking up a petition, Justice Muhammad Tariq Abbasi directed City Police Officer Humayun Bashir Tarar to issue orders to remove all containers placed on roads in different areas of the city. The petition was filed by Suhail Ahmed, a citizen, and Rawalpindi District Bar Association President Raja Nasir Mehmood. The petitioners said that due to the blockade of roads, residents were facing inconvenience in commuting. They petitioners said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek sit-ins were going-on in the capital, and the Rawalpindi administration has unnecessarily closed the roads in the garrison city, especially from Rawat to Koral area, which was causing inconveniences in their right to free movement. They requested the court to pass orders for the removal of the containers.
