Scripted

Letter August 24, 2014
In 1971, it was a scripted plan to deny constitutional right of a majority to form a govt, which led to dismemberment.

LAHORE: While the constitution gives political parties the right to peaceful protests, it does not condone scripted dharnas and protests to dislodge a constitutionally-elected government on the whims of a mob or danda-carrying activists. In 1971, it was a scripted plan to deny the constitutional right of a majority to form a government, which led to the dismemberment of Pakistan, followed by a humiliating surrender and more than 80,000 soldiers and civil servants becoming prisoners of war. Another scripted plan was our involvement in Afghanistan to facilitate America take revenge over the communists for its defeat in Vietnam.
