Two kidnappers arrested, three victims recovered

A double-barrel gun and a pistol have been seized from the possession of the kidnappers.

Three kidnapped persons were recovered, while two kidnappers were arrested by the Shikarpur police after an encounter in the katcha area of Garhi Tegho within the limits of Kot Shahu police station.


The three victims had been kidnapped from Abdo village near Chak around two months ago. According to the police, a large contingent of police personnel raided and cordoned off the kidnappers’ hideout. In the subsequent exchange of fire between the kidnappers and the police, the latter managed to arrest two kidnappers and recover three kidnapped persons. The victims were identified as Imran Bhayo, Aftab Mahar and Danish Qureshi.

Speaking to the media, Shikarpur SSP Jawaid Jaskani claimed that all three were residents of Abdo village and were kidnapped by armed men on May 24. A double-barrel gun and a pistol have been seized from the possession of the kidnappers, he said. However, he did not disclose their names.

According to the SSP, the Shikarpur police have rescued 25 kidnapped persons during the last two and half months.
