KARACHI: The Sea View drowning incidents over the Eid holidays have stunned all of us. The fact that there was such a high death toll clearly shows that the city administration has failed miserably in carrying out its primary duty, that is, to protect the lives of the people of the city.
It is a well-known fact that with every Eid a massive rush of people flock to the beaches of the city, especially Sea View. It is also known that July and August are months when the sea are very rough. Hence, the government should have been more proactive. That said, the general public should also value their own lives more since they should have known that in the monsoon months the sea is very rough.
