Busted: Two alleged target killers arrested

Police on Thursday arrested two alleged target killers during a raid conducted here in Lane No 9, Gulistan Colony.


Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer (RPO) Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalika, while addressing a press conference said that acting on a tip-off, Civil Lines Station House Officer (SHO) conducted a raid in Gulistan Colony and arrested two suspected persons.


Police also recovered 9mm pistol, 10 rounds and a 32-bore revolver with six rounds from their possession.


The RPO said the arrested accused were target killers and had reportedly confessed to killing Mufti Imran Farooqi son of Muhammad Sharif resident of Adiala Road and another person on May 21st, this year, near Tulsa village.


He said, the accused had also allegedly confessed that they were going to target nearly 20 Ulema in Punjab particularly in Rawalpindi district. Lalika said that special search operations were being conducted on a daily basis in Rawalpindi district to net criminals.
