Curbing profiteering: Commissioner asks retailers to complain

Siddiqui said that shopkeepers will not be allowed to sell essential commodities at higher rates.

KARACHI: Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, while warning retailers to stop overcharging for essential commodities, asked them to register complaints at 99203443 if they get their items at a higher rate from the wholesalers. Siddiqui said that shopkeepers will not be allowed to sell essential commodities at rates higher than those set by government by making lame excuses. He said this while on a visit to Hijrat Colony, Khayaban-e-Badar and many other bazaars of the city to check prices.
