Another attack: Fifth blast at courier office takes place in Korangi

The explosives weighted around 500 grammes.

An office of a private courier company in Korangi within the limits of Awami Colony police station was damaged after unidentified attackers bombed the office using a remote controlled device. This was the fifth office of the OCS courier company in the city to have been attacked this way in the last few months.


In the latest attack, the unidentified culprits exploded the office using a remote control device. The explosives weighted around 500 grammes. Following the explosion, an extra contingent of the law enforcers reached the site and cordoned off the entire locality.


According to the police officials, the office was destroyed in the explosion but there were no casualties as the office was empty at the time of the incident. SHO Muhammad Ishaq said that the same group of culprits is behind the series of attacks, adding that the reason behind the attacks was extortion. No case has been registered while further investigation is still underway.
