Caring for IDPs

Letter June 25, 2014
Our little donations can collectively save the people from suffering.

KARACHI: The military operation against the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has finally started in North Waziristan. The soldiers of the Pakistan Army are engaging their full efforts to eradicate terrorism from the country and restore peace. But amidst all this, the fate of the residents of North Waziristan also deserves attention.

Recently, the Inter-Services Public Relations announced that army personnel from all ranks had donated a day’s salary towards rehabilitation efforts of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan. This generous step taken by the army shows its concern for the people who are the unfortunate victims of this war. I would like to request all readers to please join hands with our brothers in the army and help the IDPs of North Waziristan. Donate some of your money and make some efforts. Our little donations can collectively save the people from suffering. By turning sympathy into action, we will not only help our displaced brothers and sisters, but will also play a vital role in bringing prosperity to the nation.
