LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has called a meeting of like-minded parties on June 26, Express News reported on Wednesday.

According to sources, Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) will be attending the meeting. A ten-point agenda will be discussed during the meeting.

On June 23, Dr Qadri landed in Pakistan from Canada. Clashes in the twin cities ensued right before the PAT chief’s arrival.

The clashes  - in which 120 people including 45 policemen were injured - had broken out between police and PAT workers early on June 23 after the supporters asked law enforcers to remove barriers blocking Airport Road near Koral Chowk.

Samina | 9 years ago | Reply If this is how democracy comes to Power and runs itself, then my brother the Martial Laws have all been better than this.. If PMLN can’t accept that they cheated and now are even afraid to open 4 constituencies for verification then what is the point of them in power. Its like no matter how we came into power, once we are here now don’t mock us. No brother this is not how it works. Everyone should be brave enough to fight in a free and fair election. btw I am not a supporter of TUQ. If democracy is what we want then we should also demand for a transparent and objective system to ensure a real democracy.
