Building schools

Letter June 13, 2014
It shows that the government is sensitive to the problems of education in the underdeveloped areas of the country.

MOHALLA ISLAMPURA, DISTRICT MIANWALI: There have been recent reports that the prime minister donated a whole year’s salary to a school in Sindh. This is a laudable step by the prime minister and signals that he considers education to be very important for human development. Moreover, it also shows that the government is sensitive to the problems of education in the underdeveloped areas of the country.

At this juncture, the government should also work towards the betterment of educational facilities in South Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where the development of schools is barely accorded priority.
