The blast took place in the Shati Kandao area of Pindiali tehsil of the agency.
Confirming the explosion, political administration official and security forces sources said that an improvised explosive device, planted on the roadside, exploded when a vehicle of the security officials was passing by.
Government sources confirmed the death toll and said that the blast targeted an FC vehicle, Express News reported.
The injured were taken to a hospital in Peshawar for medical assistance.
Security forces cordoned off the area and a search operation is underway.
No one claimed responsibility of the attack till the filing of this report.

Being an Indian, I feel that the moral responsiblity of intelligence agencies of neighboring nations should be to share intelligence and information about terrorist activities in order to save human life's. I have to admit, during Musharraf tenure, the rappo between India and Pakistani intelligence services was really good. It was after Musharraf departure, attack on Indian embassy and Attacks on Mumbai has taken place, and RAW'S retaliation IS SEEN inside Pakistan. Also, these attacks has not deterred India in any manner,to stay away from Afghanistan and help the needy. When I speak about Afghanistan, I don't say that all Indians are saints and all Pakistanis are devil's, also the retaliation towards Pakistan's naval forces, isi, police and its army forces was the proxy war call BY India to get even for Mumbai carnage. Today, I assume that there has been a scale down in RAW operating inside Pakistan as well as ISI operations inside Kashmir,but, there are terrorists crossing the border in the region of Kashmir, this should stop as well as BLA operations which is an extension of RAW, should be discontinued. IT IS OF IMMENSE AND IMMEDIATE IMPORTANCE FOR NAWAZ SHARIF TO MAKE BOTH THE AGENCIES TO SIT AND TELL THEM GUYS WHATEVER YOUR DIFFERENCES ARE SORT IT OUT, since, it has happend during his tenure in the past, it has happend during Hamid gul,Durrani, and Musharraf's regime, and has benefited the people. Just yesterday, Four terrorists in a bold manner tried, to attack the Indian embassy in Herat and were eventually, gunned down. The Pakistani, Foreign office condemned this incident, I hope all those other institutions which tries to throw weight in Pakistan is also with the Pakistani Foreign Office. However, unfortunately, 6 security personal have lost their life and 1 more injured, today, I condmn these acts of violence in any form and condolences to the victims families.
I am sure my dear Pakistani friends would agree with me that, These things should stop, in the larger interests of the people, and learn to be good neighbors.
