Disadvantages of a copy culture

Letter April 24, 2014
As of now, a number of plagiarism cases have come up and all of them have given a bad name to our academics globally.

KHAIRPUR: Sindh is the land of the pious and the saints. It is the land of love and affection. It has had a rich tradition of education. While every man wants his son or daughter to learn how to read, write and give a good name to society, some people do not want their children to get education in the proper way.

Several students cheat in examinations, a practice which compromises the quality of an entire university and sometimes, the educational standards of the entire country.

Some dishonest students prepare cheating material. Not only do they ‘make copy’ on an individual basis, they are sometimes seen gathered outside university premises while preparing cheating material.

One wonders what the future of education is. Unless this entire system is revamped and cheating, as a whole is not prevented, the country’s education sector will not be able to achieve its true potential. As of now, a number of plagiarism cases have come up and all of them have given a bad name to our academics globally.
