ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) chapter on Friday arrested a serving Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) for allegedly accumulating assets worth millions of rupees through illegal means.

As per details, the case of illegal assets of the accused was primarily unearthed following various complaints reported to the Peshawar court regarding the illegal detention of innocent people against the accused, then serving as Station House Officer (SHO) Hayatabad, Peshawar. He was later promoted to DSP (City) District Mardan.

Taking note of the highhandedness, the court had directed the director general of NAB K-P to investigate and unearth the illegal assets of the accused accumulated through ill-gotten gains.

In compliance of the directives, NAB K-P initiated an inquiry into the matter, which was subsequently converted into an investigation and an FIR was lodged against the accused in NAB K-P.

The findings of the investigations confirmed the allegations that properties worth millions of rupees had been purchased during his tenure as SHO Hayatabad.

Keep up the good work every one in KPK. It seems that KPK is just going up the ladder of success, while other provinces are confused. Once the KPK police is corruption free, then they will be better able to fight crime.
