The PPO is no solution to the problems we are facing. It must be repealed immediately.
KARACHI: I wish to register concerns about the recently passed Protection of Pakistan Ordinance (PPO). How can a democratically elected parliament pass such a controversial law? The matter is of grave concern as this law can be easily manipulated in the wrong way. It can easily be used to settle personal scores instead of achieving a higher conviction rate.
I am aware that we are in a state of war and extraordinary situations call for extraordinary measures but the PPO is no solution to the problems we are facing. It must be repealed immediately.
