ISLAMABAD: The Afghan army fired six mortar shells into Pakistan on Saturday, Express News reported military sources as saying.
The mortar shells were fired in the Ghulam Khan area of North Waziristan from the Afghan National Army flag post, military sources said.
The incident took place at 7am today and no loss of life was reported till filing of this report.
On April 15 last year, after a high-level meeting between top military officials, Pakistan Army had said that border issues with Afghanistan were resolved.
“All ongoing cross-border coordination issues were discussed and amicably resolved,” a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said.
The Afghan government had demanded Islamabad halt ‘provocative and unacceptable activities’ along the border.
The ISPR statement had claimed that “both sides agreed to continue bilateral interactions to enhance border coordination."

@Nothing but the Truth: Really? I worked with the UNHCR here and Pakistan hasn't done squat for Afghan refugees. They entered because we interfered in their land at the behest of our American overlords and are still interfering for our own nefarious purposes. The weapons and humanitarian funds given to us by the international community for the refugee was misappropriated by our army. They were allowed in without proper registration and placed in overcrowded underdeveloped camps and let loose elsewhere. We should be grateful for them for saving us from the Russians and you should be ashamed for even remotely suggesting that you have done something for them.

The Iranian plateau which starts west of the Indus river and ends at the Caspian sea consists of multiple Iranian ethnic groups such as the Pakhtoons, Balochis, Kurds, Persians, Tajiks, Pamiris, etc. Uzbeks are a mostly Turkic ethnic groups who are more Mongol in the north and more Iranian in the south, while Kazakhs are a Turko-Mongol ethnic group. Both have nothing to do with Punjabis who are an Indo-Iranian ethnic group. And if Pakistan were to disintegrate what do you suppose would happen to India? Yes, Pakhtoonistan would be a seperate country as would Balochustan with Sindh which is 40% Baloch, but what do you think would happen to India. What would happen to the maligned Assamese, Bengali, Tamil, etc. people? Your Bharat would crash and burn faster than a ton of bricks. After Iran it is Afghanistan that is firing shells into Pakistan. The question to ask is why are these two nations doing this?
