Inefficiency of utility

Letter March 24, 2014
A year and eight months have gone by since the KESC was paid, but to date, we have no meters in our building.

KARACHI: We are residents of Gulshan-e-Maymar, Sector Z-6, Karachi, and the name of our building is Iqbal Residency. We paid the builder an amount of Rs1,064,368 on July 18, 2012, for installation of a pole-mounted transformer and meters (Case ID No 0904169) and this was paid to the KESC (now called K-Electric).

A year and eight months have gone by since the KESC was paid, but to date, we have no meters in our building. Over the past few months, we have repeatedly written to the utility imploring it to install the meters immediately, especially given that we made the due payment a long time ago. The timeline of the “action” so far taken by the company after our payment was that in December 2013, a PMT was installed but the meters are still pending.
