I request government of Pakistan to ban kite material manufacturers, who are responsible for these accidental deaths.
ISLAMABAD: With the advent of spring, kite-flying gatherings are held in open air, such as rooftops of houses and fields. These are held to celebrate and welcome spring. Though the festival may be harmless, the mode of celebrations certainly isn’t.
Today, Basant as a local popular festival is also the cause of accidental deaths that occur due to kite-flying, with people falling from roofs or motorcycles and bicyclists getting injured by the thin kite string as they pass by someone flying a kite. Many people tie glass powder and metal to kite strings, which causes cuts, wounds and fatal injuries. I request the government of Pakistan to ban kite material manufacturers, who are responsible for these accidental deaths.
