Help from the troops: Wana Model School opens

Pakistan Army Engineers have constructed 53 educational institutes in the span of two years in Bajaur Agency.

Education provides a base for the development of a nation, said Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani at the inaugural ceremony for Wana Model School in South Wazirstan. Establishing education institutes in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Malakand is a top priority of the army, he added. He shared the Pakistan Army Engineers have constructed 53 educational institutes in the span of two years in Bajaur Agency, Swat, Buner, Dir and Waziristan. Around 30,000 children of 290 villages were studying in these institutes. Rabbani added around 500 male and 150 female teachers were working in these academies, which provided 26,000 direct and indirect work opportunities to locals.
