Official misconduct: SHO among two cops suspended

An FIR has also been lodged against both cops and further departmental action is in progress.

PESHAWAR: IGP Nasir Khan Durrani ordered the suspension of SHO Baffa, Mansehra, Jehanzeb Khan and head constable Niaz Ahmad on the complaint of a resident on Wednesday.

According to a handout issued from the Central Police Office, Muhammad Sadiq, a resident, had complained to the IGP that the police raided his house and took away valuables and Rs60,000 in cash.

The case was referred to DIG Inquiry and Inspection who found the complaint to be genuine and suggested strict action against the two policemen after which the IGP ordered the suspension of the two officials.

An FIR has also been lodged against both cops and further departmental action is in progress.
