Cinema houses have previously come under deadly attack in Peshawar, with the recent assault claiming 13 lives.
The security forces have chalked out a new safety plan to ensure that those going to cinemas in the city remain out of danger.
As per the plan, closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be put up outside all the cinemas and more security guards deployed in the area. The plan also restricts anyone less than 18 years of age from entering a cinema.
Cinemagoers will also be asked to bring along their computerised national identity cards (NICs) and their entry into the cinema will be documented for future reference.
No cinema hall will be allowed to have multiple entry and exit points according to the new plan and those entering the cinema will be thoroughly checked at the entrance.
