Fatal accident: Four men, boy die in road accident near Ghotki

Four men and a boy were killed and another boy was injured in a road accident near New Bus Terminal in Ghotki on Monday.


Ehsan Kalhoro, resident of Sher Muhammad Kalhoro village, along with his nephews, Avais Ahmed and Fayyaz Ahmed, and other passengers, Abdul Jabbar Mirani, Akhtar Kalhoro and Abdul Hameed Kalhoro were in a car on their way to Ghotki when a passenger coach hit the vehicle and dragged it for more than 50 metres. The motorway police and residents pulled the victims out of the damaged car and rushed them to a taluka hospital in Ghotki.


Mirani, Abdul Hameed, Fayyaz and Akhtar were declared dead upon arrival while Ehsan died on his way to the hospital. Avais has been referred to a Rahim Yar Khan hospital in critical condition.


Ghotki police station assistant head constable Altaf Ahmed said that the coach driver fled from the scene but the police have arrested the coach conductor, Ajmal Maitlo, and impounded the coach. The police have yet to register an FIR.
