Explosion in Peshawar mosque, 5 dead

Explosion took place in veranda of mosque right after Friday prayers.

PESHAWAR: Five people have been killed, and over 20 injured in an explosion outside a mosque in Pistakhara area on the outskirts of Peshawar.

The explosion took place in the veranda of a mosque right after the Juma (Friday) prayers.

At least four people are known to have died and at least 20 injured in the blast that occurred from a planted device. The device contained around 1.5 - 2kg of explosives.

According to Express 24/7 correspondent Iftikhar Firdous, the death toll could have been much higher if the blast took place inside the mosque.

The injured were shifted to Hayat Medical Complex and Lady Reading Hospital, while the police had cordoned off the site of the explosion.

There have been similar attacks recently in the same region, which is close to the Khyber Agency.

To every one who rant these people are not muslims: It is a knee jerk reaction to declare the people who actually carry out acts of terror as non-Muslims. Their charred heads can't defend themselves anymore. They can't tell the world who actually taught, trained, and filled them with so much hatred against humanity. The question that begs to be asked is that do the preachers and online aalims who incite for murder bear any responsibility for creating such mayhem and misery? Can they be regarded as Muslims? Do the Muslims who chant these terrorists are not muslims ever raise their voices against the hate spewing ulema and the fake degree holder aalims who issue edicts authorizing murder? Those who peddle hatred and murder cannot be ulema, and let alone ulema-e-Islam. Islam is the religion of peace and benevolence and not hatred and intolerance, as these ignorants masquerading as ulema would have one believe . These hate mongers are evil minded, sociopaths who are not fit to lead. Next time, when you say your prayers behind the hate mongers, just imagine the charred heads of the non-Muslim terrorists and the body parts and blood pools of the victims all over the country. Then think who the real culprit of these crimes is. The choice is yours whether or not you still choose to be sermoned by a hate monger and say your prayer in his imaamut. You are the one who keeps the hate monger in business. Hence, you share responsibility for the murder of innocent people simply by enabling the hate mongers to stay in business.
