With the induction of its two ministers in the federal cabinet, Maulana Fazlur Rehman-led Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) has formally joined the government in the Centre.
President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday administered oath to Akram Khan Durrani of JUI-F as federal minister and Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri as minister of state. Abbas Khan Afridi, an independent member representing Federally Administered Tribal Areas, also took oath as federal minister.
Khurram Dastgir Khan of PML-N who was working as state minister has also taken oath as federal minister. With the induction of JUI-F and Fata, the PML-N led ruling coalition now comprises PML-Functional, JUI-F and Fata.
Later, Afridi told The Express Tribune that the media had been misreporting that he had joined the cabinet as JUI-F member. He said he is parliamentary leader of independent group of Fata members.
