KARACHI: The patron of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has extended the period of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) for 90 days, announced the governing body on Sunday.

Nawaz had formed the IMC for three months in October after dissolving the governing body to run the sport’s affairs.

However, with the looming January 13 expiry, the patron has extended the timeline for another three months.

“[Nawaz] is pleased to extend the period of the IMC to another 90 days, effective from January 12, 2014,” said a PCB media release.

The PCB added that Shaharyar Khan, Naveed Akram Cheema, Zaheer Abbas and Haroon Rashid will continue to hold their respective positions in the committee till the IMC is in place.

“The members of the IMC also re-elected Najam Sethi as chairman of the body.”
