Restoring chairman: PEMRA officers threaten to go on strike

Statement says that if Chaudhry Rashid once again takes over as the chairman the corruption will restart.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) Officers Welfare Association has said that if Chaudhry Rashid insisted on resuming the position of Chairman Pemra, they will go on a pen-down strike. In a statement issued on Sunday, they said that the association disclosed documentary proofs of the corruption of Chaudhry Rashid and the National Accountability Bureau and Federal Investigation Agency are already investigating these allegations. The statement said that if Rashid once again takes over as the chairman, the corruption will restart. The association appreciated the authority’s decision to review the situation in its meeting today (Monday).
