Gen Sharif appreciated the infrastructure building and reconstruction work being undertaken by the Army in FATA and Malakand, he instructed all concerned parties to ensure quality and timely completion of these projects. I thought FATA and Malakand are in Pakistan and the projects should be undertaken by civilian authorities. Under which province FATA and Malakand come? Isn't it the Provincial Government responsible to build roads, schools, etc. etc? OR am I missing something?
The picture with the article captures exactly what your problem is :
A COAS and his staff officer (a colonel or higher) paying respects to fallen soldiers : the CORRECT MILITARY protocol is that both these officers SALUTE the memorial; not raise their arms in prayer!!
Understand that and you will know what your problem is!
It is time that Nawaz Sharif find some employment for the Turks of old guard in the army. They have been brought up as politicians and not as soldiers, their military ttraining was centred on destraction and not on consedrvation and development.

Ahhhh I see now. So they were "tolerated" by the previous leadership then. Makes perfect sense now.
"Terrorist attacks will not be tolerated: Army Chief" ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Now it is for the Air Force Chief to say that drone attacks will not be tolerated.
@pro bono publico: Sorry, can't answer that, as I really don't understand what you're asking.
Well I hope his actions speak louder than his words, we need an Absolute Zero Tolerance policy to terrorists. No more peace talks no more dialogues, launch an all out offense and drive them out of there hide outs like tiny roaches, chemical bomb them or do what ever it takes just don't let them take another breath.
Clean our country so finally businesses can peacefully set up boosting the economy, children can roam around on the streets care free, young and ambitious men and women can finally start to fulfill there true potential towards the motherland and the elders look at the country and feel that finally this is the Pakistan we have all been waiting for, a modern economy and a truly multiracial nation.
@Nikki:
Do you think your government has understanding ?
@jg: "Certainly,one who attacks not one who retaliates." +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Good reply! I sincerely hope that Pakistan overcomes the menace of militancy.
How about terrorist attacks against civilians - don't they count?
What about the IK? Should his policies be tolerated?
why indians post first on these types of articles i will never understand. it is as if they literally wait for each article to come out.
without a moment of hesitation, any fruitful discussions are trolled out of existence .
There was an article on a municipal matter in KP - guess who had something to say? our obsessed neighbors.
@Parvez: Will he also refuse to tolerate Indian terrorism in Indian Occupied Kashmir?
General Sahib, will you also refuse to tolerate Indian terrorism in Occupied Kashmir?
We got a real General now, thank God.
Please don't wait for attack, be pro- active and finish them in their hideouts.
This is how a true army chief should act, this statement simply boosts the moral of the soldiers on the ground that their chief cares about their lives.
@polpot: Certainly,one who attacks not one who retaliates.
@Raj - USA:
Certainly, his message is clear,those are begging for negotiation they should endorse CAOS's statement.
I love his mustache.
