The court reserved judgement on the request to have Musharraf's name removed from Exit Control List (ECL).
The former dictator's counsel had asked the court to remove Musharraf's name from the list, saying that Musharraf wanted to go and visit his mother who lives abroad.
The court also dismissed the petition to have his name put on ECL permanently.
Earlier, Musharraf was summoned at a special court for the treason case on December 24 under Article 6 of the Constitution.
The request that was submitted by the federal government at a special court on December 12 to start a treason case against Musharraf was accepted.
It was submitted by Interior Secretary Shahid Khan, stating that Musharraf had violated the constitution by imposing emergency rule in the country in November 2007.
The decision to start this case came after Musharraf was granted bail in criminal cases against him, including the assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto, slaying of Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Bugti and Lal Masjid siege.

Why doesn't he ask his mother to visit him in Islamabad? If she is sick he has the financial resources to fly her in private plane to Islamabad. When he declared his assets before election . He claimed to have Rs650 millions. This did not include accounts in $. So if he loves his mother then he should get her to Pakistan or he can request Edhi trust to help him financially. There are more than one ways to resolve this issue. Going to the courts for removal of his name from ECL is the least likely to help him.
Pakistan today is a banana republic where people like Talal Bugti put head money on former president and the cheap justice asks for bullet proof car after retirement
Pakistan is much worse than Bangladesh and Srilanka because of the failures of the Hippocrates leaders who don't deliver anything and just loot the money and divide the nation in the name of language and rule . Musharraf served the country and made it a respectable country in the world He was not a dictator at all .You must correct yourself@MMA:
@Daal Channa Sir, you have every right to interpret the facts in the way you like. however, the law remains the same in almost all the countries. "High Treason" is a crime that warrants death penalty under the law of any country! PS: In whose tenure Turkey has helped Pakistan in terms of MetroBus, Solid Waste Management and declaring Istanbul the twin city of a Pakistani city? Turkey, already bitten by military dictatorships, can never endorse dictatorship in any other country. Actions speak louder than words!!
@MMA: You mean democracy like that of Bangladesh where cleansing of mullahs is initiated than that is welcomed.
Errr, Sri Lanka? where mass genocide of opposition took place. Is this your definition of rule of law?
Turkey: Do you have democracy infatuated politicians who have pledged to keep separation between state and faith, establish strong protection of individual rights and freedom of speech? Will the democratic government accept Israel?
P.S: Pervez Musharraf has been the most loved Pakistani in Turkey.
Sane decision by SHC. A person being accused of heinous crimes must not be given any room of luxury.
Musharraf will emerge as the new leader of Karachi..... Thanks to our Judiciary for keeping him relevant!!!
@MMA: In Pakistan Rule of Law?.Stop decieving yourself.
@ Akhtarrao Thank you very much for agreeing to the principle of justice. Semantics could be different but fundamentals are the same and so is the principle of justice!
This is a very jealous and biased ans incorrect reporting :
First you wrote" Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monda Monday announced its decision that former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf will not be allowed to leave the country until all cases against him have been resolved" Express News reported.
Then you wrote " The court reserved judgement on the request to have Musharraf’s name removed from Exit Control List (ECL)."
As far as I know the judgement was reserved until Dec 23, 2013 ,the before the treason case is to start on 12-24-13 , threatening him to leave the country before the trial starts.
But Musharraf is the man of words ;He will stay and face the trial and come out as a hero Insha Allah !!
^his name says it all!
Soon he will be flying.
@MMA:
You are forgetting sir, these countries are far away economically.Their politicians learnt and deliver but Pakistani political leaders -----you know better.
The days of former Dictator are numbered. Pakistan is soon to join the league of Turkey, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka etc where the doctrine of necessity has been buried forever and the rule of law upheld.
