QUETTA: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Quetta rejected former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf's request to not appear in court in the Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case, Express News reported on Tuesday.

Musharraf was accused of orchestrating the murder of Bugti, the chief of his tribe. He was killed in a military operation in Balochistan in 2006 when Musharaf was the army chief and president of the country at the same time.

Federal Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao and former Balochistan home minister Shoaib Nosherwani were present at the court and the court reserved judgement over their request for bail.

Former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former Balochistan governor Owais Ahmed Ghani and former district coordination officer for Dera Bugti Abdul Samad Lasi were declared as fugitives by the ATC. Also, the court ordered that their properties be seized.

The hearing of the case was adjourned to December 24.

The former president, who had returned from four years of self-exile in March only to run into legal trouble, was granted bail in the Bugti murder case in October by a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court.

Warrants had been issued in June by ATC in Quetta to Musharraf, Aziz, Ghani and Lasi in the Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti murder case.

The ruling elite of this country is very keen to make Pervez Musharraf an example of article 6 so that no outsider can ever think to rule. They want the proceedings from 3rd november 2007 instead of 12th October 1999 (when a so called democratic government was overthrown) just to save a handful of members of this ruling class). This ruling class hired a good number of seudo intellectuals, journalists, anchor persons, political analytics and so called experts from judiciary, politics, economics and very shamfuly retired judges. Some of them are doing this for money and the rest have a big bundle of bias on their shoulders. No one cares for principles, justice or Pakistan they only want to setlle their accounts. God save this country.

Universal Maxim: None can be a judge of his own cause.

It's illegal to try Musharaf while the formerly deposed judges preside of the Higher Courts.

A new tribunal of impartial retired Justices should be organized for everything to do with Musharaf. Otherwise it's just going to be murder.
