PESHAWAR: Participants of a seminar held at University of Agriculture on Monday stressed on the need to utilise the province’s livestock to boost exports. Academicians, entrepreneurs, exporters and members of the civil society participated in the symposium titled ‘Dairy Science Park’ and hosted by the university to develop enterprising capacity of livestock farmers. “We are working to increase the use of livestock resources in the province, which possesses high export potential,” said Subhan Qureshi, dean of the faculty of animal husbandry and veterinary sciences. He maintained engineers and social scientists will have to coordinate with each other to achieve these targets. Qureshi said modern technology should be used in order to boost development in this sector and the government should facilitate them by linking them with vets, service providers, local and international markets. Remote surveys should also be carried for diagnosis, status of pastures and availability of markets, he added.
