Caught in time: Terrorist bid foiled, two suspected militants held

PARACHINAR:

Security forces thwarted a terrorist bid in Kurram Agency on Muharram 9, Thursday.



According to a security official, two militants were arrested and a large cache of explosives and ammunition was seized in Shaheedano Dhand, Lower Kurram Agency. The suspected militants were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.


Security forces also recovered a number of arms, including four kilogrammes of explosives, five improvised explosive devices, two RPGs, five mortar shells, five landmines, five boxes of anti-aircraft gun rounds, two anti-tank rounds, five wireless sets, 15 rifles and four daggers.


Meanwhile, security apparatus was on high alert in Parachinar, headquarters of Kurram Agency. An official of the political administration said Kurram levies, khasadar officials and security forces were deployed along the main routes of Parachinar to avoid any untoward incidents.
