Fazal, Asif hand Baloch FC rare win

Team defeats ZTBL 2-1 to record fourth win in PPFL.

KARACHI: Baloch FC recorded a rare win in the ongoing season of the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) when they defeated ZTBL 2-1 at the KMC Stadium yesterday.

After a string of defeats, the Noushki-based club won against ZTBL to record their fourth victory in the PPFL.

Fazal Muhammad scored the opening goal of the match in the seventh minute with Asif Khan doubling the lead for Baloch FC in the 29th. ZTBL’s Muhammad Naeem struck the solitary goal for his club six minutes later.

Baloch FC were the only winners in the PPFL matches yesterday. The win moved them to the 13th spot with 13 points after playing 14 matches.

In another game, PAF contained NBP 1-1 at the Korangi Baloch Stadium.

NBP, who began the season as one of the top teams in the league, took the lead in the seventh minute with Farooq Shah’s goal. However PAF, who finished fifth in the last season, equalised the score with Irfan Ali’s goal in the 31st minute.

NBP remained in seventh place with 17 points after playing 13 matches, while PAF moved to 11th position with 15 points.

Meanwhile, debutants Pak-Afghan Clearing Agency (Paca) and Lyallpur FC played a goalless draw in the third encounter of the day at the KPT Stadium.

Both sides stayed at the bottom of the table, with Lyallpur FC continuing the season as the weakest team with nine points after playing 15 matches, whereas Paca has 12 points after 13 matches.

On the other hand, defending champions KRL have only played three matches so far and have seven points already.
