KARACHI: Muslim FC contained defending champions KRL 1-1 in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) at the KPT Stadium yesterday.

KRL played their third match of the season but missed opportunities to score in the first-half. Their efforts were only answered in the 18th minute when Saddam Hussain scored the opener, while their captain Samar Ishaq had to leave the field due to a knee injury.

On the other hand, Muslim FC’s Hayatullah struck the equaliser in the 66th minute. They remain in second place with the win.

“Our strikers Kaleemullah and Muhammad Adil missed a lot of opportunities in the first-half,” KRL coach Tariq Lutfi told The Express Tribune. “They can’t afford to play the same way in the league — they need to perform better than this.”

Meanwhile, Army and Wapda played goalless draws against Afghan FC and Navy respectively.
