Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman to identify and take those involved in embezzling funds from the Kashmir Highway Project to task.

The premier issued the directives after getting a briefing from CDA officials on the project, stated a press release issued by the PM’s office.

The CDA chief told the PM that the project has been marred by neglect and mismanagement for several years. He said rules and regulations were manipulated to benefit a few contractors and officers in the past, which resulted in delay and a substantial cost increase.

The premier directed CDA to ensure timely completion of the project.
